Top marks for 7th Veterans Cup

Former Nigeria World Cup star Garba Lawal further commented: “It was really great to meet all those friends from football after many apart – Edema Benson, Tony Emodoefu, Godwin Okpara ‘Allan Ball’, you just name them.
“You could see how we were all relaxed at the gala dinner after the action on the pitch.”
A fan, Gideon Musa, said he was thrilled by the flashes of skills exhibited by some of the ex-internationals on parade at the three-day tournament.
He mentioned players like Victor Agali, Abubakar Balarabe ‘Keegan”, Garba Lawal, Taju Oyekanmi, Abdulazeez Abdulkarim, Teslim Fatusi, Kumbi Titiloye, Musa Garba ‘Santos’, Baldwin Bazuaye, Abubakar Abubakar and Mohammed Musa who rolled back the years with their performances.
This year’s Veterans Cup was bankrolled by Shehu Dikko with a prize money of a million Naira on offer and all eight teams travel and boarding costs were borne by the sponsor.
